Delicious food at a great price. When in Laurel, this is a the place to visit. At first glimpse, it doesn't look like much from the outside. However, the catfish PO' boy is by far the best I've had.
I use to live down the street from the Seafood Market and boy do I miss them. They are still my go to seafood stop. There are now several places here but the seafood market is my choice :)
This is not your average mom and pop run store. This is great seafood fishery and restaurant that serves real down home eats. The service is pretty good and oh boy they crank out some of the best food around town. You also have the convients of general store goods and snacks for those pit stops. They're located just a block from the main highway. All in all this place serves food that is to die for with a mom and pop charm to it.
The seafood market surpassed my expectations. The food was pretty good. I don't know why I ordered an 11 inch poboy because that's pretty big but I almost ate all of it. The shrimp were good and it came with a good bit of them. My lovely husband got the catfish platter and he loved it. I tried it and it tasted fresh. The lady that took our order was very nice and made sure our drinks were refilled. The place is small so if there are a lot of people you might have to take it to go but they had a cool little condiment place where you could get tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, ketchup, which I thought was nice so you don't have to keep asking the server for some. This is the perfect place for a good comfort seafood meal. I will be back to tried the boiled shrimp!
